Filing papers in cupboards can greatly reduce the clutter at your desk, whether in your home office or at your place of business. Filing cabinets are a great way to remain organized, and to keep important documents within easy reach. They also provide an additional surface for plants and other personal touch items. To ensure your filing cabinet does not become filled with unimportant items, follow a few tips for filing your papers effectively. Ask yourself whether you need the paper on a long-term or permanent basis, whether or not it records an important event or transaction, or whether it is a duplicate of information you already have stored elsewhere. Store the paper only after you have decided you absolutely need it.
