Yellow Sky (1948) is an American western film directed by William A. Wellman. The story is believed to be loosely adapted from William Shakespeare's The Tempest.[1] A band of outlaws flee after a bank robbery and encounter an old man and his granddaughter in a ghost town.In 1867, a gang led by James "Stretch" Dawson (Gregory Peck)
robs a bank and flees into the desert. Out of water, the outlaws come
upon a ghost town called Yellow Sky and its only residents, a hostile
